Amazon Alexa—Setup and How To Use

Get voice control for your smart home system with any Alexa-enabled device, including the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap or FireTV Voice Remote. Once you've installed your device, follow these instructions to properly sync with your Brinks Home™ system.

Note: You will use the Alarm.com skill since your Brinks Home system is powered by Alarm.com.

Setup

1. Download the Alexa app on your iOS or Android device. Then, log in to the Alexa app using your Amazon.com account credentials.

2. Enable the Alarm.com skill by tapping the Skills option located in the side menu within the Alexa app. Type in "Alarm.com", and then tap Enable Skill.

3. Sync your Brinks Home account with Alexa by entering your Brinks Home Mobile App login and password. Enter the verification code and then press Allow if you would like to give Amazon Alexa access to optional security features. If you allow, you will also be asked to create a pin to use to perform secure actions.

How To Use

Simply ask your system to perform commands or to learn the status of your smart home devices. Each time, begin by saying "Alexa, ask Alarm.com." In the case of the FireTV Voice Remote, just press and hold the microphone button and say "Ask Alarm.com."

Just say..."Alexa, ask Alarm.com..."

"to Arm Stay my system."

"to lock my front door."

"is my garage door closed?"

"record a video clip to turn off all the lights".

"what temperature is it in here?"

"disarm the alarm panel." This will be followed by saying your 4 digit code out loud.
