How to Add a Z-Wave Device to the IQ Panel 4
Add Z-Wave Light Module
1. Press or swipe down the clock display at the top of the settings tray, then press Settings.
2. Press Advanced Settings, then enter the default installer code 1111 or 2222.
3. Press Installation, then Devices.
4. Press Add Device, then Pair.
5. Press the Mate button on the light module.
6. The IQ Panel 4 should beep if successful, press Automation, select if the device turns on at Night or Evening, then press OK.
7. Press Name then select the pre-determined name or press Customer Description to create a name.
8. If a custom descriptor was selected, enter a custom name. Press the check or keypad icon.
9. Press the back arrow or home icon to exit.
Delete Z-Wave Light Module
1. Press or swipe down clock display at top for settings tray, then press Settings.
2. Press Advanced Settings, then enter the default installer code 1111 or 2222.
3. Press Installation, then Devices.
4. Press Clear Device.
5. Press the Mate button on the light module.
6. If successful press OK then the back arrow or home icon to exit.
Programming A Z-Wave Door Lock
1. Press or swipe down the clock display at the top of the settings tray, then press Settings.
2. Press Advanced Settings, then enter the default installer code 1111 or 2222.
3. Press Installation, then Devices.
4. Press Add Device, then Pair.
5. Remove the battery cover from the Kwikset lock and press the left button.
Schlage Deadbolt:
1. Enter the six-digit programming code provided in the Schlage documentation.
2. Press the SCHLAGE button then 0. The Schlage button flashes orange for a minute.
Kwikset Deadbolt:
Open the battery cover, press the left button, then wait for 2 minutes.
Yale Touchscreen Deadbolt:
- Touch the screen with the back of your hand or fingers to activate.
- Enter the 4 to 8-digit master code, then press #. The lock should sound a happy tone.
- Press 7, then press # to enroll. The lock should sound a "Happy" tone.
4. If successful lock settings appear, press Name and select from pre-determined names or press Custom Name to enter your own name.
7. If custom name was selected press Custom Desc, enter a name, press the check or keypad icon, then press Add to save.
8. Press Add to finish, then press the back arrow or the home icon to exit.
Programming a CT100 Thermostat
1. Press or swipe down the clock display at the top of the settings tray, then press Settings.
2. Press Advanced Settings, then enter the default installer code 1111 or 2222.
3. Press Installation, then Devices.
4. Press Add Device, then Pair.
5. At the thermostat, press the Menu button, "r1" displays and Mate appears under the antenna icon.
6. Press Mate again - MATE begins flashing.
7. If successful the thermostat displays Link under the antenna icon, then press the Menu button to exit.
8. The IQ Panel 4 beeps and displays device settings, press Name then select pre-determined name, or press Custom Name to create your own name.
9. If Custom Descriptor was selected press Custom Desc and enter a custom name, then press the check or keypad icon.
10. Press the back arrow or home icon to exit.
Adding Z-Wave Devices
1. Press or swipe down clock display at top for settings tray, then press Settings.
2. Press Advanced Settings, then enter the default installer code 1111 or 2222.
3. Press Installation, then Devices.
4. Press Add Device, then Pair or Include.
5. Press the Learn or Pair button on the device.
Plug-in Lamp or Light/Appliance Module:
Double click the Mate button.
IQ Siren:
Press the button at the bottom of the siren.
In-Wall Dimmer or On/Off Light Switch:
Turn the light switch on and off.
In-Wall Outlet:
Double click the button in the middle of the outlet.
Thermostats
GE Basic Thermostat:
Remove the top cover, then press the MATE button.
Radio Thermostat CT30, CT100 and CT101:
1. Press the thermostat Menu button - "r1" displays and Mate appears under the antenna icon.
2. Press the Mate button again. Mate begins flashing on screen.
3. If successful the thermostat displays Link under the antenna icon, then press the Menu button to exit.
Trane Remote Energy Management Thermostat:
1. Press the left button twice, scroll down to Z-Wave install, and press Select. Then select Yes.
2. The IQ Panel 4 should beep if successful, press Name, then select the pre-determined name or press Custom Description to create a name.
3. If custom description was selected, enter custom name, then press the check or keypad icon.
4. Press the back arrow or the home icon to exit.
Qolsys IQ Panel 4 - LiftMaster Garage Door Installation
Step 1: Install the 888LM MyQ Control Panel
1) Disconnect all electrical power to the garage door opener.
2) Remove the existing door control from the wall.
3) Note the polarity of the wires connected to the existing door control. Label the wires appropriately (Red/White).
4) Disconnect the wires from the existing door control.
5) Connect the wires to the new MyQ Control Panel.
6) Mount the MyQ Control Panel to the wall.
7) Reconnect power. The yellow command LED and the red learn LED should quickly blink for up to 5 minutes as the MyQ Control Panel recharges.
8) Test the MyQ Control Panel. Press the push bar to activate the garage door opener.
10) Connect to LiftMaster Internet Gateway (See instructions below).
Step 2: Connect LiftMaster Internet Gateway
1) Connect ethernet cable to router and the internet gateway.
2) Connect power to the internet gateway.
3) When the internet gateway connects to the internet, the green light will stop blinking and will light solid. If the green light does not light solid, check the power, router, and internet connections to the internet gateway.
4) Write down the serial number on the gateway to be used in the registration process.
Step 3: Register Internet Gateway
Note: You cannot register the Internet Gateway through the Brinks Home App if it is already registered through MyQ/LiftMaster. You must delete the Internet Gateway from your MyQ account before attempting to register it to your Brinks Home App.
1) Log in to your Brinks Home app by using your login credentials.
2) Access garage door registration through your Equipment menu, Z-Wave tab, Garage option.
3) Follow the instructions to add a gateway.
4) Enter the serial number of the Gateway and continue.
5) Select Add New Device to put the Gateway into learn mode.
6) Perform either of the two scenarios listed below:
• Scenario #1: After the yellow light is on at the internet gateway, go to the MyQ Control Panel (888LM) and push the learn button twice. The LED on the gateway will turn blue once the device is learned in.
• Scenario #2: After the yellow light is on at the internet gateway, enter menu > program > MyQ device on the Control Panel (e.g. 880LM). The LED on the gateway will turn blue once the device is learned in.
8) Return to the Garage page and click Check for New Devices.
9) Repeat steps 6-8 if initially unsuccessful. Also check the model number of your garage door against the complete list of compatible garage door openers, linked below, and make sure the garage door is compatible.
LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door Programming
Identifying the Components:
The 888LM is the Control Panel mounted on a wall usually by the inside garage door.
The Gateway links the MyQ Garage Door opener to the Internet Router by Wi-Fi.
Compatibility:
Any LiftMaster or Chamberlain garage door opener with integrated MyQ technology.
There are two types of protocol compatible with the gateway:
A. Security +
If the MyQ logo is not on the opener, there should to be a purple learn button. You will have to use the LiftMaster control panel in this case.
B. Security + 2.0
There will be a control panel included with the opener, which will have a "Learn" button.
Connecting the Control Panel to the Garage Opener:
1) Connect the red and white wires to the control panel.
2) Wait till the control panel finishes charging. When it's done, the yellow LED will remain illuminated. The door can be tested by simply pressing the push button at the center.
Note: Control panels used with Security + 2.0 garage door openers do not have to charge.
Setting Up the Gateway Device through the Brinks Home App website:
1) Connect Gateway to router by Ethernet cable, then power up and wait until the Green LED turns on solid.
2) Add the Gateway by selecting Get Started.
3) Enter the Gateway serial number and the account will attempt to connect with the device.
Learning Control Panel(s) to the Gateway Device:
1) Enable Learn Mode on the gateway. This will cause the yellow LED on the gateway to turn on.
2) Press the Learn button on the control panel. When this connects to the Gateway the blue LED on the Gateway turns on.
