ADC-V510 Camera Installation and Troubleshooting

Common Terms

Transformer (Power Brick)
The transformer converts household AC power into the DC voltage the camera needs.
Wi-Fi Extender
A device that boosts your wireless signal range so the camera stays connected, even far from your router.
AP Mode
Access Point mode lets the camera create its own Wi-Fi network for initial setup.
WPS
Wi-Fi Protected Setup joins your camera to the network by pressing the WPS button on your router.
VMD
Video Motion Detection triggers recordings when movement is detected in the camera’s view.
Perimeter Guard
A feature that sets a virtual boundary and alerts you when someone crosses it.

Factory Default

Warning: Resetting erases settings. You must contact us after reset: 469-513-8685.

Hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the LED blinks red.

Wi-Fi Setup

WPS Mode

  1. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes blue.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
  3. If the LED turns solid green, the camera joined your network. If it flashes red, try again.

AP Mode

  1. Press and hold the reset button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes white.
  2. On your phone or computer, join the camera’s SSID “Alarm XX:XX:XX”.
  3. Open a browser to http://192.168.1.1.
  4. Select your home network, enter the password, and confirm.
  5. Wait for the LED to turn solid green.

Signal Strength

  1. Open the Brinks Home™ App.
  2. Tap Video (camera icon).
  3. Tap ⚙️ (gear icon) in the top right.
  4. Select your ADC-V510 camera.
  5. View Signal Strength.
Signal (%) Status Action
79–100% Excellent No action needed; reliable video.
66–78% Good Monitor performance; slight repositioning may help.
0–65% Poor Reposition device or add a Wi-Fi extender; contact us if issues persist.

Ethernet Setup

Connect the LAN port on the camera to your router using an Ethernet cable.

Add via Desktop App

  1. Log in to the Brinks Home™ Desktop Portal.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Add Video Device.
  5. When the ADC-V510 appears, enter a name and click Install.
  6. Click Live View to see your camera feed.

Add via Brinks Home™ App

  1. Open the Brinks Home™ Mobile App.
  2. Tap Video at the bottom.
  3. Tap ⚙️ (gear icon) in the top right.
  4. Tap Add Video Device and choose ADC-V510.
  5. Enter a name and tap Next.
  6. Wait for the camera to configure.
  7. Tap Live to view your camera.

Troubleshooting

No Power

  1. Ensure the power adapter is firmly plugged in.
  2. Try a different outlet or power strip.
  3. Inspect the transformer cable for damage.
  4. If the LED never lights, contact support at 469-513-8685.

No Network Connection

  1. If using Ethernet, check the cable connection.
  2. If using Wi-Fi, repeat the Wi-Fi Setup.
  3. Move the camera closer to your router or extender.
  4. Check Signal Strength in the Brinks Home™ App.

No Live View

  1. Power cycle the camera by unplugging and replugging the adapter.
  2. Verify your app is up to date.
  3. Ensure you’re logged into the correct Brinks Home™ account.
  4. If you still can’t see live video, reset the camera and re-add it.

Solid Green Local network & Internet OK
  1. No action needed.
Flashing Green Local OK, Internet bad
  1. Restart router.
  2. Power cycle camera.
Solid Red No network connection
  1. Check Ethernet or repeat Wi-Fi Setup.
  2. Check cables.
Flashing Red Camera booting
  1. Wait 2 minutes.
  2. If still flashing, reset camera.
Flashing Blue WPS mode
  1. Complete WPS Setup.
Flashing White AP mode
  1. Complete AP Setup.
Flashing Yellow Bluetooth pairing
  1. Use Bluetooth in the mobile app if needed.
