Factory Default
Warning: erases everything, the camera must be re-added to your account.
- Press and hold the doorbell button for 76-180 seconds until the LED starts flashing red and green.
- Wait for the device to reboot.
This wireless video doorbell functions in unison with the ADC-W115C Smart Chime, which should be installed prior to connecting the doorbell to your Wi-Fi. We will start here with installation steps for the chime. To skip to installation or connection of the doorbell once the chime is installed, click here.
Connect the Smart Chime with the Brinks Home™ Mobile App
- Log in to the Brinks Home Mobile App.
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Add Device.
- Tap Video Camera.
- Tap Enter MAC Address. If you do not see the add device option, please use the AP mode or WPS mode instructions below to complete your installation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the chime.
Once the chime is connected, you are now ready to connect the video doorbell camera. Click here to jump to these instructions.
Connect the Smart Chime on a Desktop
- Log in to the Brinks Home App on a desktop browser.
- Click Video.
- Click Settings.
- Click Add Video Device.
- Select Smart Chime (ADC-W115C) from the installation tutorials list.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the chime.
Note: you will be instructed to hold the WPS button for 10+ seconds until the cloud LED begins blinking. Failure to do so will prevent the installation from completing.

Connect the Smart Chime Using WPS Mode
To ensure sufficient Wi-Fi signal, complete these steps with the chime in close proximity to your router.
- Plug the smart chime into a non-switched electrical outlet. Wait for the power LED to change from flashing to solid.
- Press and hold the WPS button for approximately five seconds or until the LED changes from flashing rapidly to flashing slowly.
- Activate WPS mode on your router. Consult your router’s user guide for more information. The smart chime will begin to connect to the Wi-Fi network. The smart chime’s router LED will begin flashing when a connection is established and will become solid when an internet connection is successfully established.
- Click on the following URL: www.alarm.com/addcamera, and enter your credentials for the Brinks Home App.
- You will be prompted to enter the smart chime’s MAC address, located on the back of the chime, on the packaging, or on the sticker that is included in the packaging.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the chime. Note: you will be instructed to hold the WPS button for 10+ seconds until the cloud LED begins flashing. Failure to do so will prevent the installation from completing.
- You can now unplug the chime and install it in its final location.

Connect the Smart Chime Using AP Mode
To ensure sufficient Wi-Fi signal, complete these steps with the chime in close proximity to your router.
- Plug the smart chime into a non-switched electrical outlet. Wait for the power LED to change from flashing to solid.
- On an internet-enabled device, connect to the Wi-Fi network Chime Config (XX:XX:XX) where XX:XX:XX is the last six characters of the smart chime’s MAC address, located on the back of the chime or on the packaging. To connect, use the Wi-Fi password located on the back of the chime, on the packaging, or on the sticker that is included in the packaging. Note: this configuration network will only be available when the device is not connected to the home’s Wi-Fi network. To switch to a different Wi-Fi network, while actively connected to the original network, use the smart chime’s wireless network settings page on the Brinks Home App.
- On the same device, open a web browser and enter: http://connect.alarm.com or http://192.168.173.1/ in the URL field. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the smart chime to the Wi-Fi network. The router LED will begin flashing when a connection is established and will remain illuminated when an internet connection is successfully established.
- Click on the following URL: www.alarm.com/addcamera, and enter your credentials for the Brinks Home App.
- You will be prompted to enter the smart chime’s MAC address, located on the back of the chime, on the packaging, or on the sticker that is included in the packaging.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the chime. Note: you will be instructed to hold the WPS button for 10+ seconds until the cloud LED begins flashing. Failure to do so will prevent the installation from completing.
- You can now unplug the chime and install it in its final location.
Placing Your Smart Chime
- Unplug the smart chime and move it to a non-switched electrical outlet near your video doorbell. Wait for the power LED to change from flashing to solid.
- If the router LED begins flashing, wait for the LED to change from blinking to solid.
- If the router LED does not begin flashing, your smart chime is too far from your home router. Identify a non-switched electrical outlet closer to your home router and return to step 1.
- Once the router LED is solid, you can assess the strength of the signal being received on the smart chime’s wireless network settings page.
Connect the ADC-VDB780B Video Doorbell Camera to the Smart Chime and Wi-Fi
Be sure to add the smart chime to your Brinks Home App account before using WPS mode to connect to the video doorbell camera.
- Ensure the video doorbell camera (ADC-VDB780B) is less than 10 feet away from the smart chime (ADC-W115C).
- Press and release the WPS button on the Smart Chime. The WPS LED will rapidly flash to indicate that the device is in WPS mode.
- Press and hold the doorbell camera button firmly for at least 30 seconds. The LED will begin flashing blue then flash three times before turning solid, indicating a successful pairing.
LED Reference Guide
- • Off - standby or off
- • Flashing red - power on, camera booting
- • Solid green - internet and Alarm.com connection
- • Flashing blue - WPS enrollment mode enabled
- • Flashing white - Wi-Fi access point mode
- • Flashing red/blue - low battery requiring recharge
- • Solid red - no local or Internet connection
- • Flashing red/green - restoring factory defaults
- • Flashing yellow - camera power cycling
- • Flashing yellow rapidly - camera updating firmware
The following LED indicators are shown when the device is charging.
- • Solid orange (top LED)/solid green (button LED): charged 75% or more
- • Solid orange (top LED)/solid orange (button LED): charged 15–74%
- • Solid orange (top LED)/flashing red/blue (button LED): charged less than 15%
- • Solid green (top LED)/solid green (button LED): fully charged
- • Solid green (top LED)/flashing red/yellow (button LED): battery pack's internal temperature is too cold (allow battery pack to reach room temperature to continue charging)
- • Solid green (top LED)/flashing red (button LED): battery pack's internal temperature is too hot (allow battery pack to reach room temperature to continue charging)
- Flashing red/green (top LED)/flashing red/white (button LED) - the battery pack stopped charging because the device was plugged in too long. This may signal that there is an issue with your battery pack. Remove the charging cable and re-attempt charging after an hour.
